Ever since the 1800's, people in the United States have commemorated Thanksgiving by duplicating the image of the pilgrims and the Indians meeting together for a amiable feast. As pretty as this image of friendship may well be, it is not true. The account of pilgrims and Indians was one of one-sided friendship. while the Indians presented the pilgrims with goods and education to stay alive their first winter the pilgrims gave thanks to them by brutally murdering and striking them. Even though this is not what we prefer to think about as we get together to feast with our loved ones, perhaps it creates a new point of view to the day. The pilgrims were selfish and dubious. They took from the Indians and gave back in the worst ways possible. Maybe instead of copying the romanticized idea of the pilgrims and Indians as friends each Thanksgiving, we should consider on the hatred the Indians met at the hands of their "friends" the pilgrims.

Birth The Gift Of Life
A few days ago I received amazing news. I am going to be an auntie again! One of my lifelong friends just found out that she's having a baby and in about six months we will all be greeting a little baby into this world. The minute she explained her situation I started thinking about a baby shower, welcome gift ideas, and all the gadgets, diapers and apparel that this newborn is going to have to have. I began looking on the web for products to welcome a new baby and I discovered the Bearington Baby collection from Bearington Bear. Bearington Bear has been around for 14 years and in that short time they have won more design awards and nominations than any other teddy bear Organization. Not only are their products nice and soft, but they are made to last. This seemed like the kind of product I wanted. I don't think there's anything more significant to a infant than their favorite stuffed animal or security blanket. Often, by the time the child turns six, the stuffed animal or blankie which they've hung on to since birth is so used that it becomes an eyesore that mom would rather not hang on to. This is unfortunate when you consider all the great memories these security items bring to mind. Not to mention the security they give to the little child.

College Student's Gift A Care Package
When I was a teenager my parents would send me off to camp for the summer. The one thing I looked forward to more than letters from family was a care package from my parents. Some girls got a care package every single week packed with food, random junk that would make us laugh, and pictures. Though I was not lucky enough to get a package every single week, the one or two packages that I did receive were always the best! Since my mom owns a gift basket company, my care packages were never casually thrown into a cardboard box, but instead were presented in a beautiful basket wrapped in bows. Not only was the packaging incomparable, but my mom's company has access to products which you can't buy off the shelves in your local big box store. My packages were always filled with gourmet food such as dried strawberries, exceptional chocolate bars, fruit and nut mixes, tea and hot chocolate, and one of a kind cookies and candies.. I would always share my baskets with my friends and for years after, my camp friends would ask me where my mom had found certain delicacies that they had only ever had in the contents of my camp care packages. a few months ago I moved cross country for school after twenty one years of living in the same state as my parents. Although full-on homesickness hasn't set in yet, it has been difficult being away from my friends and family and there are days which are harder than others. A week or so ago I got an unexpected package. I tore the box open to find a gift basket much like the ones my mom used to send me at camp. It contained 'energy' jelly beans, fruit and nut mix, gourmet chocolate bars and cookies, some of the best granola bars I've ever had in my life, and my bike bell which I had left behind at my parents' house.

Birth is considered one of life's wonderful events no matter how often you have experienced it with a family member, friends and co-workers is regarded as a miracle. Father's Day Celebration With Chocolate
Can you believe that Father's Day has officially only been in existence since 1972. It took 4 presidents and a Maine senator to at last make it official. Mother’s Day had been around for nearly 60 years by then. Sonora Smart was the first person to suggest Father’s Day to celebrate her Father who was left to raise his 6 children when his wife died giving birth to their 6th child. It was then proposed to complement Mother’s day in celebrating fatherhood and male parenting. Nowadays Father's Day is celebrated on a variety of dates around the world and typically involves gifting, amazing dinners to fathers, and family-oriented activities. To help in support of Father’s day young members of the YMCA went to church sporting a rose: a red rose to show respect a living father, and a white rose to show respect a deceased one. Oddly enough enough Father's Day was at risk of disappearing from the calendar while Mother's Day was met with excitement,

Graduation I Send Gift Baskets
Graduation is a key life affair for anyone. Whether graduating from associate's program or earning a doctorate, graduation is an accomplishment worth honoring. In the United States, around 57% of the populace between the ages of 3 and 34 are enrolled in some kind of training. Whether attending cosmotology school, medical school, or elementary school, these individuals are taking action toward a better future. Of this 57%, only some will indeed graduate from high school and then of course postsecondary institutions as well. In 2009, 8.1% of High School Students dropped out of school before graduating. Of those who had began as Freshman in the class of 2006, approximately 75% graduated. When observing Postsecondary Schools, the number of students who graduate are even smaller. In 2001, 38% of approved students of 2 year institutions graduated together with 65% from 4 year institutions. This shows that it takes hard work and determination to obtain an education and this is why we should award those who see it through. My friend recently moved from Rhode Island to Colorado to complete his education half way across the country. He is fortunate to attend a university with various campuses nationally which allows him to transfer his credits freely from one state to another. He didn't leave because he was unsatisfied with the campus in Rhode Island or in order to experience another school. His sole reason for heading to Colorado was so that his family in California could go to his graduation ceremony. My friend is from a large Mexican family and he is the first among them to graduate from university. For his family this means there will be a huge party that may last several days. Not only will he be surrounded by family and lots of great food, but he can expect the kindness of gifts. Gift giving is an important part of any graduation celebration, because it allows family and friends an opportunity to tell the graduate that they are proud of them. Giving gifts is a form of showing that you support what the graduate is doing for their self as they prepare for their future. As the graduation season approaches, remember the significance of the words “Congratulations!” Whether conveyed with money, presents useful for a future career, or a custom made Bath Relaxation Gift Basket, recognition for a job well done means just as much as the self satisfaction a graduate gets from their accomplishment.
