Only at Ester do Bunnies Have Eggs

Alomst every month offers some holiday and many have a Christian origin. Easter celebrates Jesus Christ’s resurrection, making it the most important of all Christian holy days. However, today the meaning of the holiday is masked by painted eggs and bunnies. Easter can fall anytime between March 22 and April 25 since is occurs the first Sunday after the full moon. Easter is also related to the Jewish Passover in symbolism and it’s location in the calendar.
How does the rabbit and the eggs fit in? Well the rabbit is a well know sexual character of fertility. Religions connected with Babel link the rabbit with periodicity, both human and lunar. The Mother Goddess Semiramis (Easter) is linked with the moon. Therefore, the Easter bunny symbolizes the Mother Goddess and is linked with once a year Spring time fertility rituals worshiping the Mother Goddess.

Colored Easter eggs are a part of the events too that came from the egg which was a consecrated symbol among the Babylonians. The thought that a incredible size egg fell from heaven into the Euphrates River from which the Goddess Semiramis was hatched.
It makes you wonder how many of us truly think about the exact meaning of this holiday other than the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It has turned into another retail holiday and very retail oriented. In spite of it all, it is a time for families to come together and celebrate the day.

Kids love Easter for the gifts, candy and most of all the egg hunting which could take on a life of it’s own. Family member that are separated by geography regularly send Easter baskets to their loved ones. Grandparents send Filled Easter baskets for Kids to grandchildren. Daughter and sons send Family Easter Basket to parents and siblings far away. These Easter food baskets contain candy, plastic eggs filled with goodies, cheese, crackers, brunch items and more.
